Praxis I Conceptual Design
Given a design brief focusing on the removal of pesticides from produce, our group had to identify the contributing factors and frame the problem we wanted to solve. After brainstorming a number of ideas we came up with three main concepts. My design was a ring-shaped brush for washing fruits and vegetables. The following picture explains the feature more clearly:
This visual was a successful model that communicated the concept behind my design. The rest of my group decided that this was the best idea of the three to be proposed for the detailed design. Although I had made a low fidelity prototype, I never was able to test for functionality. In this scenario, my design process was broken apart, especially since the conceptual report was passed on to another group.
