Praxis I Detailed Design
For the detailed design portion of product design project, I was responsible for the solid modeling. This was the first time I was using a program like SolidWorks to make a 3D model. I learned a great deal in the few weeks I worked on this assignment. One of the most important things I took from this experience was the mindset behind making a digital model. I never considered the order of steps and the efficiency of a design until working on this project. Shapes I though would be simple to make turned out to be very complicated unless approached in the right manner.
Having a 3D model was very helpful when communicating our design, especially since a higher fidelity prototype would require many more resources than we had access to.
